Rev. Phillips is a 1986 B.A. graduate of Concordia University (Ann Arbor, MI) and a 1991 M.Div. graduate of Concordia Seminary (St. Louis, MO). A Michigan native, Rev. Phillips has served deaf and hearing churches in South Dakota, Iowa and Illinois. His interest in serving the Deaf began in 1998 with the adoption of a daughter who was deaf and had autism (she was called to glory on September 8, 2010, age 13). Rev. Phillips is married (12/21/1985) to Beverly (nee Staples) Phillips. The Lord has blessed them with three sons and a daughter.
Rev. Phillips serves as the Missionary-Pastor for the Deaf in the Central Illinois District LCMS and as the Parish Financial Secretary.
