Who we are
The Colorado Cowboys for Jesus were born 34 yeears ago when Vern Thompson became a member of the Flying W Wranglers, at the North Famous Fying W Ranch in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Vern was a believer and was privileged to work at the Flying W and tell a secular audience of God's Love. Joe Stephenson, a fellow believer joined him 19 years ago and the two have been praising God, playing & singing together ever since.
They have performed and entertained all over the world, delighting audiences at New York City's Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., in addition to entertaining millions at the Flying W Ranch. Their performances highlight traditional Gospel songs sung in a true western style with lots of hand clappinO fun and the Good News that Jesus Christ lives.
Vern and Joe answered God's call on their lives 5 years ago and went into full time Ministry, leaving the Flying W Ranch. The Flying W has always been a wonderful family oriented business, owned by Christians, but the cowboy friends felt they needed to be more deeply involved in ministry and become more useable for the Kingdom of God. They have been blessed as theyOve studied God's Word and travelled coast to coast & around the world praising their Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. They've worked with Compassion International, Moody Bible Network, Andrew Wommack Ministries, Focus on The Family, the Christian & Missionary Alliance, the Alliance Defense Fund, Life Network, the Navigators, Glen Eyrie, & many local Churches and ministries across the country.
The Colorado Cowboys for Jesus have helped plant four successful Cowboy Churches in Colorado. Joe and Vern are serving as Co-Pastors of "Colorado Cowboys for Jesus Cowboy Church" in Colorado Springs. "Cowboy Church" is held each Saturday evening at 6:30pm and Sunday mornings at 10:30am and meets at 11 N. 22nd Avenue in Colorado Springs (Old Colorado City). Although the "Cowboys For Jesus" are definitely called as Pastors they also know that they were called as musicians & that musk and good clean family fun will always be a big part of their Ministry. The "Colorado Cowboys for Jesus" still travel and do family oriented Cowboy and Gospel Musk Shows with lots of good natured cowboy humor when time allows.
The "Colorado Cowboys for Jesus" share the wonderful story of God's Amazing Grace. The message is a love story of what Jesus has already done for you. He will change your life, if you'll only let Him. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Celebrate the Love of Jesus with us! We know that God's people have His Joy and we love to share his love with good clean family fun. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10) For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
