Who we are
Elevate Church launched in February 2013, though the journey to launch began in 2010 when Mark Pomery and the Leaders of what was then Rivervale Church of Christ, identified the need to make some significant changes.
After nearly 70 years of faithfulness, it was clear God was calling the Church into a new era and nothing short of a reinvention would do.
We took a focussed approach and are committed to theology, mission, and values determining why and how we do what we do.
We made obvious changes in our Live Experiences. We adopted a communication style more relevant to our cultural setting. And we switched to a team approach.
We also changed the church’s name. We dropped the denominational focus in order to better connect with the people we are committed to engage. It was a symbolic but powerful shift that made clear to everyone that we are pioneering a new era.
Our vision is to be a catalyst for a movement of people that embrace the real life Jesus gives. While it’s early days, Elevate Church is committed to exploring fresh and bold ways to effectively engage with and invest in people, to unleash God’s purpose and potential for Perth and beyond.
Elevate Church is all about Jesus and all about transformation. If you are checking out Elevate for the first time, we want you to know we’ve been expecting you. We are committed to creating great environments for you, both in person and here at elevatechurch.me.
We are passionate about creating irresistible ways to experience relationship with God and others. We do real, we disdain pretense … at Elevate there’s no perfect people allowed!
Our Live Experiences offer relevant messages, engaging worship, and legal stimulants (in the form of freshly roasted specialty coffee).
Our Elevate Kids environments are safe, fun, and led by people who consider it a privilege to invest in the lives of children. We also have great environments for high school students.
