Who we are
At Faith Lutheran Church, we’re always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you’ll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here’s what you can expect when you come to our service. When you walk in, find one of our greeters and introduce yourself. They’re usually stationed at the doors and they’ll show you where everything is. They’ll help you find the sanctuary, fellowship area and restrooms. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers. Be sure to hang around after the service. You’ll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We’d also love to get to know you so you’re a familiar face the next time you come. Please remember to sign the Guest list before you leave.

My name is Stephen Schmiel. I was born in New Ulm, MN. I grew up in rural Nebraska until I was 10; I lived in Door County, Wisconsin after that and through high school. I received a Bachelor of Art’s degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in 2007. I served as a vicar, or intern, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE in 2010.
I completed my theological training and received a Masters of Divinity at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI in 2011. In 2011 the Lord blessed me with a call to serve the wonderful people of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Prior Lake! It has been a fantastic experience! I enjoy a wide variety of things: music of all kinds, sports, chess, travel, and good conversation! Please feel free to stop into the church office anytime!
