"Celebrating Christ and Serving Community at 6th and Lincoln and Throughout the World."
From its beginning in 1819 as the first organized church in the city of Bloomington, our congregation has always sought and continues to seek to exhibit a faithful, challenging and contemporary Christian witness.
Our church is more than a building; it is a community of seekers and disciples in Christ. We believe that a community formed by Christ is also one committed to full hospitality for all of God's children.
We worship together, we learn together, we serve together, but most of all, together, we seek to be God's people in an ever changing world.

Andy Kort began his ministry as the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in 2011. Prior to moving to Bloomington, he served churches in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and in Larchmont, New York. He also credits a field education experience in Boston as a major influence on his ministry. Originally from Pittsburgh, he calls Charlotte, NC home.
Andy graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, where he majored in Public Relations. He received his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
While at Princeton Seminary, he met and married the Rev. Mihee Kim-Kort, also an ordained Presbyterian Minister. They are the proud parents of twins, born in 2011 and of a son born in 2013. Andy enjoys reading, traveling, good coffee, and exercise. He is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and has quickly warmed up to the idea of cheering for the Hoosiers.
