Floyd Assembly of God History
Floyd Assembly of God is one of the older Assembly of God churches in Arkansas, having been set in order in 1928.
Five years prior to that, in the spring and summer of 1923, the congregation was birthed as a result of a great revival in the community that was led by Zella Johnson, a young lady from Thayer, Missouri. Reports were that 188 people were saved and baptized in that meeting. The newly formed core group of believers began to meet together on a regular basis. In 1924 they made a decision to purchase two acres of land, on which the buildings now currently sit, and built a tabernacle before winter of that year. The infant Body was known as The Full Gospel Mission of Floyd.
Throughout the years and at this present time, the people of Floyd Assembly of God have been and continue to be a constant influence for righteousness in the community where they live and meet and also around the world through many different outreach ministries.
