Who we are
Glad Tidings Church of God is a Pentecostal country church located on Lake Mitchell road about 5 miles east of Clanton. The people are very friendly and always are welcoming new visitors. Our church has an active youth program called 180 Ministries and a Children's Ministry called K.F.C.

We at Glad Tidings Church of God, are a body of people, called out by God, following Jesus Christ and living by His principles of holiness. We are growing a great church by Christ's Commission of loving God completely and our neighbors as ourselves, and fulfilling His Great Commission by making disciples of all people. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our ultimate goal is to reach all people for salvation, to teach them the Bible, to disciple people toward a deeper spiritual maturity, to help people grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Under 12s:
KFC (Kids For Christ) is our children's church ministries. KFC meets every Sunday morning during the morning service. KFC features puppets, singing, and activities to allow children age 3-12 to learn about Jesus in a fun way. Mary Harris and Holly Porter are the leaders of KFC. KFC also uses members of C.L.U.E. Minsitries to aid in teaching the children. Come bring your child to KFC on Sunday morining so he or she may grow in Christ at an early age.

Glad Tidings Church of God History
The Glad Tidings Church of God was established in 1947. The first building site was on Wyatt Minor Road, the building would seat approximately seventy people and there were five Charter members. The pastor was Rev. Elbert Orange. In 1990 there were sixty-eight members, who at this time felt lead of God to build a larger building with a larger parking area. In October of 1990 the members purchased ten acres of land on Lake Mitchell Road and began construction of the new building , which would seat three hundred and fifty people. The first worship service in the new building was held on April 7, 1991. The glad Tidings Church of God now has 162 members under the leadership of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we plan even greater things in the next fifty years.
