Our Mission

Make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world through worship, prayer, fellowship, study and service.

Our Vision

We welcome everyone to join us in our continuing process of transformation in a multi-generational ministry in Lexington, Ohio.

Church of the Cross will reach out with the love of God in Christ through worship, fellowship, small groups, and hands-on mission outreach.

We will keep moving forward together.

We will grow and expand our service to God while growing our fellowship with each other through spiritual growth, prayer, and study.

Lexington Church of the Cross United Methodist Lexington Service Times

WORSHIP

We begin at 9:30am in the sanctuary with a relaxed service. Join us for praise, prayer, and proclamation of the word.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Join us at 10:30am (immediately following worship) for Sunday school classes and groups for all ages.

Nursery care, staffed in observance of our 'safe site' policy, is provided during the worship hour for children three years of age and under.

If you need help on Sunday morning, feel free to visit our Visitor Table in the main lobby and someone would be happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Vacation Bible School - a VERY big deal every summer at Church of the Cross and a super rewarding experience for both the children and the adult VBS teachers and assistants

Sunday School - the Children are released to their Sunday School class at 10:15 (just before the sermon) and runs to 11:00am

​Nursery - Staffed in observance of our Church of the Cross 'Safe Site' policy, Nursery care is provided during Sunday Worship services for infants thru 3 year olds

Sunday Evenings: Friends of Faith (grades 3-6) gather 5:00 to 6:00

Sunday Evenings: Agape Sr. High (grades 7 to 12) gather 6:30 to 9:00

for times of Fun, Sharing and Support for one another

Friends of Faith - a Christian youth group for grades 3 thru 6 which meets Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 7:00pm and takes part in other special events throughout the year

Agape Youth - formerly Revolution Youth - a Christian youth group for grades 7 thru 12 which meets Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 and takes part in other special events throughout the year

Prayer Team - Wednesdays at 5:45-7:00pm

Prayer Shawl Ministry - 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 1:00-2:30pm

Knotty Ladies - Tuesdays at 9:00am

The Care Team - Delivers meals and prayers to those to provide practical and tangible needs during difficult times

Food Pantry - Thursdays from 6:15-7:00pm

Lexington Child Development Center - COTC proudly partners with the LCDC, an award-winning preschool and daycare. For more information visit their website at http://www.lcdckids.com

Alcoholics Anonymous - AA- Open Meeting – Fridays at 7:30pm (Fellowship Hall) AA- 12 Step Meeting – Monday at 7:30pm (Parlor – Education wing)

Heart of Ohio Emmaus - 1st Thursday of Every month at 6:00pm

Men's Breakfast - Held on the 1st Sunday of every month at 8:00am

Small Groups - Wednesday evening small group gatherings are held numerous times throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. The sessions usually start at 7pm

Music

Praise Worship Team - Our church is blessed with a music director who is not only a talented choir director but is also an accomplished praise song keyboardist and we are further blessed in that our pastor is also a talented praise song drummer (How Cool is that ?)

Chancel Choir - Under the Direction of Geoff Fischer, group practices from 7:00-8:00PM on Thursday nights from September - May

​Bell Choir - Under the direction of Marita Boughton, group practices 6:45-7:45PM on Monday nights from September - May
