Morden Morden Service Times
Prayer & Praise
informal service in cottage room songs readings prayers and talk
Every fourth Sunday at 6:30 PM for 1 hour
Sunday
Communion
Each Sunday begins with a traditional '1662' Communion. The liturgy used is that of the Book of Common Prayer. The service is quite and reflective and includes prayers for the week and a short 'homily' style sermon based on one of the readings set for the day.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM
Morning Prayer
Of our two 'main' morning services the nine o'clock is the more formal. Worship follows the pattern of Common Worship, and there is a choir. There is a blend of musical styles; hymns and choruses are both appreciated, as is organ and piano. A focal point of the service will be a 20 minute sermon based on a Bible passage. The 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month are Communion service.
Every Sunday at 9:00 AM for 50 minutes
Morning Worship
The 10.30 is generally the 'livelier' of our two morning services. We alternate with two worship groups who lead the congregational singing. Children participate in the first quarter of an hour of the service before leaving for their own groups. The preacher will be the same as at the 9am though sometimes may have a slightly different focus. The third service of the month may be a Baptism, and the fourth is Family Communion.
Every Sunday at 10:30 AM
Evening Prayer
At the end of the day we follow the Common Worship pattern of evening prayer, including an expository serMonday The organ generally accompanies singing. The second Sunday of the month is Communion with the opportunity to receive prayer with the laying on of hands. The third Sunday of the month we change gear completely with 'Prayer and Praise' - an informal service held in the Church centre. Though still planned this service is 'looser' than our others with many opportunities for participation in sharing and prayers etc The 1st & 3rd Sunday is Ignition
