I was born on December 15, 1966 in the small town of Medina, OH. Parents are Shelia Hollis and Harold Violet Sr. My mother is living and doing well as a member of our church. My father died of massive heart attack in 2013. I married Melissa Ray on March 17, 1989. A few years later we bore two boys, Dustin Violet our first born, was born on May 21, 1991 and our second son Daniel “Scott” Violet born March 15, 1996. Both of our boys graduated from Pickens High School. We have lived in the Pickens county area most of our 30 years of marriage. We helped with the Lighthouse Church of Cedartown for little over a year but felt God pulling us back to the Jasper area.
Through some of life’s hardships and journeys, I embarked on furthering my education through Kennesaw State University and graduated in 2015 with a master’s degree in Social Work. I am currently employed with the State of Georgia in the Department of Community Supervision, as a Behavioral Health Counselor. I currently pastor New Life Apostolic, UPCI and feel this is my life’s calling. I am ordained through the United Pentecostal Church International and remain active in the doctrine and beliefs that the UPCI upholds.

New Life Apostolic UPCI History
As most churches, we started as a home bible study in the homes of a couple of families that had a hunger for more knowledge of God. We would alternate between two of the homes for our studies. We started with about 10 people in these bible studies. The bible studies grew to the time was not any room for more. The last Sunday we had church there was standing room only, so we decided to lease a building. We were in these homes doing bible studies about a year. The first building we leased had a truck, leaking oil in the middle of the floor, which would become our sanctuary. With a little hard work and sponsorship of another church, we built a platform and laid carpet in our new church building. The church began to grow with several new saints. As with any church we had struggles and had several move away or just decided to move on. This building was the place of our worship for around 2 years.
Our second place of worship was the old Movie Gallery building, near the old high school. As before we had a lot of growth and many miracles. The day we had a gentleman come to church in a wheel chair and when the servioce was over and God moved this man received a miracle. He then left pushing the wheel chair himself. God can do anything, if we can just believe. After about a year we decided to leave that spot and moved to another building downtown Jasper. on the back side of main street was a store front building available. We had leased this spot nearly 3 years.
The church began praying for a building that had parking and was a stand alone building. God moved and placed at the place we are. There are many other aspects to the history I can add but, it would take several pages, so I will just give you the short version. Come be with us in service and let God do new thing in your life. This building is beautiful and God has blessed us tremendously. Look forward to seeing you there.
