Who we are
Welcome to St. James The Apostle
St. James is a parish of the Diocese of Western Newfoundland, located at Channel Port aux Basques, on the Southwest Coast of the Island.
The twin steeples of St. James' Church can be seen for miles away and have often been referred to as a beacon for people on both land and sea. May this site be a beacon of welcome to you when you visit and if you are ever in the area or you are looking for a new parish home, let it be an invitation to you, to come worship with us.

Sunday 10:00 am
Our services follow the liturgies from the Book of Alternative Services and the Book of Common Prayer. Each sunday morning we celebrate the service at 10:00am. On the fourth sunday of each month during the 10:00am service we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Baptism. Once a month a fellowship brunch is held in the church hall.
Our music is usually the traditional organ music, using the hymnals of the Anglican Church. However, from time to time, we incorporate more contemporary and gospel music provided by our parish music group.
