Who we are
In 2008 the LORD allowed Pastor Gregg and his family to start the Ponderosa Baptist Church. The first service was held at the famous Little America Hotel off of Butler Ave in Flagstaff. Pastor and his family were the only ones attending for a few weeks, but the LORD, who is faithful, began to bring people to Ponderosa.
After several weeks of meeting at Little America on Sunday and at Pastor's house on Wednesday the LORD opend up Sechrist Elementary School to be the new home of Ponderosa Baptist
September 21, 2008 Pastor Gregg and a few families chartered the Ponderosa Baptist Church there at Sechrist. For the next three years the church would reside at Sechrist. During those years the LORD began to work in many people. Souls were saved, and people being added to the church.
As 2011 came around the LORD started burdening the people of Ponderosa about finding a new location that they could call their own.
June 5th of 2011 the church had their first Sunday service in a new store front location with a great crowd and souls saved.
Praise the LORD for all HE has done. The LORD is now opening the door for Ponderosa Baptist Church to move into a new location. We are excited how our LORD is leading our church.
In May of 2015 the LORD led us to leave the shopping center that we had come to call home and step out by faith by renting the Hal Jensen Recreation Center. During this time we set up and broke down each Sunday for our services. the LORD blessed us with a pioneering spirit and we saw growth, and life changing decisions.
