Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church Scarborough is a Christian congregation serving the Scarborough community and seeking, engaging, and encouraging others through a life-changing Christian journey.

On May 24th, 1983 Father William F. Harding received a letter from Cardinal Carter establishing a new parish in the city of Scarborough and appointing him as the parish priest.
The original parish boundaries were expanded in September, 1986.
NORTH: Hwy 407 from Brimley Rd. to Markham Rd.
WEST: Brimley Rd.(north of Steeles Ave.) and Kennedy Rd (south of Steeles Ave.)
EAST: Markham Rd.
SOUTH: Finch Ave.
May 24, 1983 Fr. Bill Harding appointed founding pastor of Prince of Peace.
Aug. 6-7, 1983 Parish boundaries officially established.
* boundaries expanded in September 1986.
Aug. 6-7, 1983 Weekend Masses started in Our Lady of Grace school gym.

Some features of the Prince of Peace Church
The building comprises the main Church with a seating capacity of 900, the Hall with a capacity of between 250-300, and a Rectory which accommodates three full-time residents, with offices attached.
On the roof over the front entrance stands a statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague done in gold leaf.
A beautiful stained glass window high over the main altar depicts the Paschal Mystery: "Christ has Died, Christ is Risen, Christ will come again."
The Shrine area features a wall of stained glass depicting the Nativity scene, the Rainbow of the Covenant, the hemispheres of the world and the words: "With God there is no East or West, there is no North or South."
The oil painting of Our Mother of Perpetual Help is an original oil painting done in the Ukraine. It is set in gold leaf.
The DivineMercy, located at the Altar.
The gold Cross located on the southern roof was custom made with 24 Kt. gold over 10mm of nickel covering copper.
The most recent addition, our Grotto, located at the the back of the Church.
