Pastor Roderick Zak and his partner in ministry, his wife Vanessa, founded Rejoice in the Lord Ministries over 16 years ago. His experience as a Pastor and father of four children and grandfather to three lends to his approach to ministry. He truly believes that the Word of God is alive and when applied to your life, can provide the healing and wholeness that many are aching for. Pastor Zak’s heart for his community is also reflected in his work throughout the community in advocacy work and through his non-profit, Need to Read. Need to Read is an organization that provides resources and education to improve literacy in children in underserved communities.

On Sunday mornings, you'll find everything from business attire and dresses to polo shirts and jeans. Come in whatever is comfortable for you.

Children

One of the greatest gifts we can give families is another voice to help reinforce Christian values to our children. We provide a welcoming environment during our 10:00 a.m. service for your child to learn to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.

Rejoice Kids starts at 1 year old and goes to 5th grade. We have a special section in the sanctuary for babies under the age of 1 year old, so parents can still attend service while caring for young babies.

The older children start with a welcome activity, followed by praise and worship. The children are broken up into groups with a leader who brings a Bible story to life with an age-appropriate game, craft or song. Your child will learn how much God loves them, in a fun and exciting way.

We want to empower parents to become the spiritual leaders God has called them to be, by talking with their children after service and applying God’s Word throughout the week.

All Rejoice Kids volunteers receive a background check and ongoing training from our leadership team.

Youth

For students in grades 6th-12th, we have a student small group that meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Sunday at 9:00 AM. Together they have a special service on 4th Sunday at 10 a.m., and then they break into small groups to dig into God’s Word and what it means for them at this point in their life. Our youth group also takes trips together. Whether it’s attending Christian concerts or completing a service project, your teen will learn firsthand what it means to be the body of Christ, under the direction of Godly leaders.

The Spring of 2004 was a season of new beginnings. It was when Pastor Roderick Zak and his wife Vanessa Bumpers Zak were called to found a pioneering church in Central Florida that could help people discover the joys of following Jesus Christ. Five families were instrumental in helping bring that vision to life. The very first service was held on March 21, 2004 at the historic Plaza Theater in Downtown Orlando. The church began with 475 charter partners. Today, Rejoice in the Lord Ministries has grown to a faith community of over 1,000. This vibrant body of Rejoicers has attracted all ages and ethnicities, who come from all walks of life. Founded on the principle that believers are called to live like Jesus Christ by loving God and loving His people, the Rejoice in the Lord family focuses on spiritual nourishment, and energizing its members to make a positive impact in their spheres of influence. In recent years, Rejoice has also become affiliated with Vision360 and Converge Worldwide--organizations that connect influential and rapidly-growing churches around the world for the purpose of igniting movements and transforming lives for Christ. An interdenominational, hands-on ministry, Rejoice offers weekly services with positive and practical, Scripture-based messages as well as a wide range of opportunities for fellowship and service to God. With lively, contemporary music, the ministry strives for an atmosphere of exuberant praise where partners and guests can fulfill the call of Revelations 19:7: "Let us Rejoice and be glad and give Him glory."
