Who we are
Welcome to St. Paul
First of all our mission at St. Paul is to recognize that "We are imperfect people risking it all to make Jesus real...one life at a time."
We just want to say how privileged we are to have you visiting our Church website. We consider visitors to our church a very important gauge of the health and vibrancy of our congregation. I think that you will find here at St. Paul a family of faith that is caring, loving, and most importantly Christ-centered in its worship life.
We at St. Paul feel that in today’s Post-Modern society, to have a place to come and worship that is firmly grounded in the truth of God’s holy Word is a rare find. We are a strong Bible-based, Bible-believing church, that understands clearly from God’s Word, that we are saved by grace through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ and not by works which we do.
Here at St. Paul our worship services are liturgical in nature, meaning that they are structured on the church’s historic liturgy, which is nothing more than spoken, chanted, prayed, and sung Scripture. With this in mind, the more you love Scripture, the more you love the church’s liturgy—hence the more you will love the worship services at St. Paul.
We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd, & 5th Sundays of the month and at every high Church Festival. It is an opportunity for us, as the body of Christ, to confess our unity and our love for each other and binds us together as a family in Christ.
If you are searching for a new church home or would like to learn more about St. Paul, you always have an open invitation to worship with us, attend Bible study with us, and come to the Adult Information class to learn more about membership here at our church.
Again, it was our privilege to have you visit us on the St. Paul website! We strive to be a church where families come together to worship, praise, serve, and love God and each other. The Lord be with you and we invite you to come back and visit often!

Leader Bio:
Rev. Richard (Rick) Cody grew up in Tomball, Texas, attending and graduating Tomball Lutheran School and then on to graduate from Tomball High School. After graduation, he continued his education at Concordia Lutheran College, Austin, Texas, (now Concordia University Texas), earning a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences. Upon graduation from college, he attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO., earning his Master of Divinity.
While at Concordia, Austin, he met and married the love of his life, Michelle (Farley), who also attended Concordia. Michelle is a native of Texas and started her life in Amarillo, TX, Hereford, TX, and then on to Rockwall, TX, where she graduated high school.
Rick and Michelle are blessed with two sons, Ryan (26) born in Austin, TX, and Cameron (19) born in Texarkana, TX. Ryan lives and works in Joplin, MO, doing social work. Cameron is a full-time college student.
Pastor Cody has been privileged to serve three congregations during the course of his 22-year ministry. His first call out of seminary was to First Lutheran Church, Texarkana, Texas, where he served as Associate Pastor for 1-year. He was then called as the Senior Pastor of First Lutheran and served in that position for the next 4-years. He was then called to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Monett, MO, where he served for 15-years. His latest call was to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rader, MO, where he served right at 2-years.
During Pastor Cody’s years of service, he has served several vacancies: Grace Lutheran, Aurora, MO; Trinity Lutheran, Freistatt, MO (twice); Immanuel Lutheran, Rader, MO, (until they issued a call) and Our Savior Lutheran, Buffalo, MO.
Pastor Cody has also served the church at large as a short-term LCMS missionary to Cambodia, Hong-Kong, Jiangmen, China; Shenzhen, China, and Macau, in 2013. He was also a 2004 Delegate to the Synodical Convention in St. Louis, MO.
He has served the Missouri District in several capacities as Chairman of the following boards: Board for Mission Services; Board for Congregational Services; North Korean Mission Task Force; and the Communications and Technology Board. He has served on the Missouri District Board of Directors on three different occasions. He was also elected at convention as Circuit Visitor. He has been nominated for the second time for Board of Regents at Concordia University Austin, for next year’s 2019 Synodical Convention.
Pastor Cody is an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, and golfer. He and Michelle and their sons love to hike and kayak. Estes Park, Colorado, is their families favorite vacation destination. Pastor and Michelle love spending time with their family whenever they can, and are extremely happy to be back in the great state of Texas after an 18-year hiatus.
May God’s guiding hand be upon us all and may all we do always bring glory to Him! Soli Deo Gloria!
