Who we are
Welcome to St. Chad's
We are a Christian community living out our faith in Jesus through our actions in the world. We come together for worship, stay together to build community during breakfast, then go out into the world equipped to share the love of Christ. We have many ministries as a part of St. Chad's that are focused on building bonds within our community and then using them to serve others.
Our Mission
To proclaim the Good News of Salvation through our Lord, Jesus Christ;
To enable God's people to promote His Kingdom by fulfilling their Baptismal Covenant;
To worship God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and
To show forth God's prophetic and reconciling love to one another and to the world.

Leader Bio:
Fr. Jeremiah Griffin joins St. Chad’s after his service to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marfa, TX. He was called to serve in the clergy after a career at the McDonald Observatory in Houston, TX. While at the Observatory, Fr. Jeremiah worked as a grant writer and event planner, but what he most enjoyed was working with scientists to translate their research into articles for non-scientifically minded folks.
Fr. Jeremiah met his wife Meredith at the Kerrville Folk Music festival. She was about to finish college and go volunteer at clinics established by Mother Teresa in India. This was something that Fr. Jeremiah had also wanted to do, so he went with her. They spent about 3 months in India caring for people with AIDS, Leprosy, and Tuberculosis. These experiences had a profound impact on Fr. Jeremiah and Meredith and proved to be life changing.
As a young married couple, they often hosted a small group for the college-aged members of their church. They wanted to integrate some sort of ministry into their new life together. They initially planned to use their home as a meeting place but soon the students were asking Fr. Jeremiah and Meredith for some kind of lesson – which they hadn’t counted on! This led Fr. Jeremiah to begin an in-depth study of scripture and theology and he found that his prayer life deepened and he fell in love with this work. It was during a long car ride with his brother, sister-in-law and Meredith that Fr. Jeremiah realized God was calling him to the clergy. After serving as a hospital chaplain and Associate Curate, he became the Rector of St. Paul’s in January 2015.
In addition to being an avid hiker, camper and busy father of two, Fr. Jeremiah was once an apprentice swordsmith and knife maker. Throughout grad school, he lobbied for small farmers and ranchers at the Texas Legislature and worked nights as a “pedi-cab” (bicycle taxi) chauffeur in downtown Austin. We’re glad to have Fr. Jeremiah adding his leadership at St. Chad’s to his list of interests and gifts.
