During the first half of the service a thriving Children's Church is provided in the Church Hall for youngsters of primary school age. The children return at the Peace and we all gather for the remainder of our service.
St Michael's Choir has a wide repertoire of mass settings. On most Sundays the choir also sings an anthem at Communion. Our Hymns are taken from The New English Hymnal.
A short sermon is preached.

Come and join us for evening prayer in St Michael's Lady (Chapel) as we thank God for bring us safely to the end of each day. The service is made up almost entirely from scripture.
We say psalms and canticles, listen to scripture readings and offer intercessions for the church, the world, our local community. We also remember by name those who suffer in body, mind or spirit the recently departed and those whose died around the date that we are meeting in years gone by.
This service IS accessible and is open to all! There are no weird books to navigate. You won't have to try and find your way around an obscure or dusty prayer book. All materials for each day are pre-arranged in an easier to follow booklet. No ribbons or book marks are required!
This is a similar service to that which is offered in religious communities all over the world . It unites us with Christians who are all praying the same psalms are reading the same portions of scripture each day. Evening Prayer strengths our local church and encourages our fellowship. When two or three are gathered together in Christ's name He tells us that He is in our the midst! Can you make time for this service one morning a month?

Before your day begins why not spend half and hour in silence resting in the stillness of God's loving presence? Meditation is not just for monks - it's for all Christians! Come and find out how regular silent prayer can transform your life and enliven your faith.
Praying in silence with others can seem intimidating if you've never done it before - but at St Michaels we strive to create a really relaxed environment each morning and welcome all newcomers! You don't need to stay for the full half hour - just stay for as long or as little as you feel comfortable.
