Who we are
Passionate and Loving Servants of the Living God
Templestowe Baptist Church dates back to 1979 when a group of families began meeting each Sunday for worship in a local community facility. We later moved to a nearby primary school, and then to our own building in Andersons Creek Road.
We also developed the Templestowe Orchards retirement village on the same premises, and for many years we managed this facility. In 2013 we sold Templestowe Orchards to Baptcare, and work started on the contemporary new church building where we now meet.
Today we are a vibrant community of believers, encompassing English, Cantonese and Mandarin congregations, actively seeking God’s heart for His kingdom’s work in our community and beyond.
We gather on Sundays for worship together, and also promote many other activities for our church community.
Our vision is to see a positive, exciting, Bible-based ministry where people of different ages and cultures will share stories of God’s grace and be equipped to serve Christ, day by day, wherever He sends us, with faithfulness.
Our Vision Statement:
To be a God-glorifying, spiritually healthy community of disciples of Jesus Christ who have a passion for God and all people. Equipped by the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit we want to see the Lord impact our wider city and world as we Seek, Share, Strengthen, Serve and Send people. Through this, and by God’s grace and gospel, we will faithfully serve Christ and His mission from here to the ends of the earth until He comes.
