Who we are
The Anglican Parish of Southern Trinity is located along the north shore of Lake Erie. It includes the two churches of Christ Church, Colchester and St. Andrew's, Harrow.
We are deep in wine country just 25 minutes from Windsor/Detroit. Agriculture has shaped a way of life in tune to the seasons and we know each season reveals another joyful aspect of God’s creation.
Multifaceted and multicultural the country of Essex was first settled by United Empire Loyalists.
It is also rich in the history of the emancipation of African Americans who came here on the underground railroad fleeing slavery.
We’re a community of believers with something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you at one of our services this Sunday.

The Story of the Banner
In 2003, when Christ Church,Colchester, St. Alban's, Malden, and St. Andrew's, Harrow, came together to form the Parish of Southern Trinity the liturgical team searched the Bible to find a verse that expressed their purpose in the new Parish. The verse they chose is the final one in the gospel reading for The Fifth Sunday of Easter, Year B.
John 15:8 "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples."
We felt that our purpose as lay readers under the direction of the priest was to be like the piers of a bridge supporting the members of the three former parishes as they set out together across the bridge and out into the world to share the story of God's love, to spread the message of redemption and forgiveness, and to show by their actions their care and concern for others. Working together, the whole Parish of Southern Trinity could become Jesus' disciples and bear much fruit to show glory to God.
Marilyn McLean of St. Andrew's, Harrow, on hearing the story, created this banner which hangs in the stairwell at St. Andrew's. It shows three children representing our three parishes as they hold hands and begin their journey across the bridge and out into the world.
Christ Church celebrated a connection with 1812 with a Community Tea Party and Church Tours
On Saturday, July 21, 2012 our church helped celebrate the 1812 bicentennial with a pie and tea party for those who came to visit our historic church with its connection to that period. At that time members of the church were part of the Essex militia and our founder, Rev. Richard Pollard was a prominent member of Amherstburg and Fort Malden as well as ministering to “300 souls in Colchester.” We thought it was a good opportunity to offer refreshment to visitors and earn some money for the church’s ministry.
We had tours of the chapel and of the old cemetery, dating back to 1806 and probably before as there is evidence of Indian burials. The chapel was rebuilt in 1957-58 using the original stone of the First Church built by 1819. Rev. Pollard had the vision for the church earlier but the war forced delays and building began after 1816. In 1958 Rev. Skinner had the vision to reconstruct a chapel a quarter of the original size. His daughter Donna Boulton and her husband, John, gave more information about this. Dorothy and Robert Martin descendents of original settlers manned the cemetery tour.
Ladies, brought together from St Andrew’s and Christ Church by warden, Sandra McKee, and her committee, were kept busy in the church hall where they served refreshments. Randy Cyr and Jane showed a video and answered questions. Everyone was delighted that Rev. Gene Lotz joined us, dressed in a long black cassock which fitted in with the ladies early19th century costumes as the picture shows. We are grateful to all who worked hard that day and to the Park House for the dresses.
