New Beginnings, New Ministry, New Vision!
Welcome to Christ Church United
We are the first and only Regional church in Seaway Valley Presbytery. Our two congregations, Trinity (Chesterville) and Morewood, are uniting. As well, we are in conversation with
Williamsburg United Church, who will hopefully be joining us in the near future. All three congregations are sitting on committees as of February 3, 2013 to prepare for Christ Church
United to begin July 1, 2013. Our journey is continues with this new ministry and we can only hope that other congregations will unite with us!
Our focus will be outreach near and far. We are the hands, feet and voice of Christ in our homes, community and world so join us as make a difference together. We start by being
a welcoming community as we learn about each other and giving everyone a voice.
Our church is in Chesterville, Ontario, a rural community of about of about 1,300 people that includes young working families and retirees. Our County of Dundas has about 12,000 residents and the main industry is agriculture (dairying and crop growing). We have an excellent teaching hospital in Winchester (10 minutes). Chesterville is mainly a bedroom community with many of the residents working outside of our area. Although we are situated in a beautiful rural setting, we are in close proximity to Ottawa (45 minutes), Cornwall (50 minutes), Montreal (2 hours), Toronto (about 4 hours) and there are two US Border Crossings within an hour's drive.
One is never far from the cultural activities and excitement of the city or an International airport (40 minutes). There are excellent sports and physical activities in our County. Many people have come for a visit and stayed for a lifetime!"
This is a time of transition, a time of learning, a time of excitement and a time of building a new ministry!
