Who we are

Vision

According to the Scriptures we at TCC believe that the saving work of Christ was to save people from the power of sin, deliver them from the rule of Satan and set them free from the dominion of self (the flesh). Through faith in Jesus the believer is brought into a right standing with God, who desires to empower His people with the Holy Spirit to impact their world: ‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.’ (Acts 1:8)

The ministry of TCC is to bring every person into freedom from all fear and experience fullness of faith through the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, who breaks every yoke and removes every burden:‘And it shall come to pass that his burden shall be taken away from thy shoulder and his yoke from off thy neck and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.’ (Isaiah 10:27 KJV)

TCC maintains that believers anointed with power from on high are equipped to become more than conquerors through Christ, who strengthened them to be victorious in adversity and, through being overcomers, proclaim the gospel to the nation: ‘In all things we a more than conquerors through [Christ] who loved us.’ (Romans 8:37)

TCC has been brought into existence by God in order to proclaim the good news of Jesus through every member to all people everywhere, with the confirmation of signs and wonders accrediting the faith of the individual: ‘And the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by signs that accompanied it.’ (Mark 16:20)

As a worshipping Church TCC promotes worship and praise as part of the believer’s lifestyle in the expectation of entering the presence of God through Holy Spirit anointed worship and Christ centred preaching: ‘Joy and gladness will be found in her and the sound of melody.’ (Isaiah 51:3)

Believing that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation, TCC is committed to teaching and proclaiming the word of faith, which is every believer’s confession: ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming.”’ (Romans 10:8)

Bonded together through supernatural Love, TCC is dedicated to walking in God’s favour and growing together spiritually and numerically: ‘I am concerned for you and will look on you with favour…I will multiply the number of people upon you…I will increase the number of men…’ (Ez.36: 9-11)

TCC aims to be a fellowship where people are loved and cared for, within a context of privacy and safety, while being encouraged to grow in faith to believe that God will turn any failure into success and replace any weakness with strength: ‘By faith [their] weakness was turned to strength.’ (Heb.11: 34)

Tuckton Christian Fellowship History

The story of Tuckton Christian Centre begins long before Bournemouth became the great town it is now, to the time of the English aristocrat Granville Waldegrav, who later became Lord Radstock. A member of the ancient Waldegrav family, whose roots go back to William the Conqueror. Granville, who was educated at Harrow and Balliol College, Oxford, was sent to the Crimean war in 1856 at the age of 23.

In Britain, God-fearing parents had told their sons to pray before they sailed for the Crimean War. Protestant clergymen had blessed them. Victoria, the Bible-loving queen herself, had praised them for their bravery and patriotism and wished them God-speed. The soldiers left these islands, among them Granville, to fight for Queen and country in far away lands.

But this war in the Crimean, Granville felt certain, was not God’s work.It was hell.
After falling seriously ill, Granville prayed in desperation “Lord,” he cried in his heart, amid the groans of suffering men in the night,

“If you give me life I will come back to Russia with your Gospel instead of a gun!”
