Minute Meditations

Service to God

  • God's being all-powerful is simply a definition of Godlimitless. But God's power is never mere force. It is the relentless but gentle pursuit of the human heart, never intruding, but always calling
  • Dear God, help us to recognize the many different ways we may serve you, and help us to not let one of them go unused
  • Dear Lord, help us to stay focused on you, to forgive those who sin against us, to desire the best for them, and to have hope for your triumph over sin and death
  • Dear Lord, help us to worry not so much about being successful for you but about being faithful to you
  • Let God, through His Spirit, plant the seed of His Word in my heart. Then give it the water and the nourishment it needs so that I may serve Him faithfully all the days of my life.
  • The first priority in our daily work is to do the will of God; secondly, to do it in the manner he wills it; and thirdly, to do it because it is his will.
  • Resolve never to give up praying and striving for virtue, no matter how many times you fall.
  • When we are serving and we are doing it for Christ, we need to be able to see His face in those we are serving
  • Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall proclaim your praise. To you be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus from generation to generation evermore
  • My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love you, I want my heart to repeat it to you as often as I draw breath
  • God be in my head and in my understanding. God be in mine eyes and in my looking. God be in my mouth, and in my speaking
  • My Lord God, I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And you already know that I have that desire in all that I am doing.
  • God does not give us talents for our own pleasure and purpose, rather God gives us talents primarily to serve Him (and thus the whole world) in simple and generous ways
  • Though we live in the midst of a sinful world and evil seems to dominate life, we are safe in eternal life. By serving God, the victory has already been won.
Jesus is lord

Quote of the Day
