The Ellsworth Presbyterian Church was organized November 18, 1892 at the Temple Opera House. The first sermon was given by Rev. C. C. Todd of La Crosse. Services were held in the courthouse and Odd Fellows Hall before a church was built from 1895-1896 right in the village of Ellsworth. Electric lights were installed in 1903 and the bell from the Big River Presbyterian church was moved here in 1925. First Presbyterian Church Ellsworth WI closed its doors in November 2020.
