Who we are
Our Church was orignially planted amidst a Pine grove near the Tampa International Airport - hence “Chapel in the Pines”
The Holy Scriptures describe the church as an evergreen tree like Pine trees. And so, we named our congregation, “Chapel in the Pines" not just because it first stood among Pine trees but we were open and eager to grow, expressing vibrant and dynamic love in our community. Our desire is to be "like a tree planted by streams of water, who yields fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither." (Psalm 1)
Chapel in the Pines church has been called by God and organized to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. We minister to the needs of the members of the congregation and the Town and Country community. We promote God's Kingdom of peace and justice in the world through service to all in need and through exaltation of Jesus to the glory of God the Father which ushers in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church History
I want to know Thee
Father, I want to know Thee, but my coward heart fears to give up its toys. I cannot part with them without inward bleeding, and I do not try to hide from Thee the terror of the parting. I come trembling, but I do come. Please root from my heart all those things which I have cherished so long and which have become a very part of my living self, so that Thou mayest enter and dwell there without a rival. Then shalt Thou make the place of Thy feet glorious. Then shall my heart have no need of the sun to shine in it, for Thyself wilt be the light of it, and there shall be no night there. In Jesus Name, Amen.
