Who we are
COTRM started in 1962 as a church plant from a local Baptist church. Today we are a charismatic church in pursuit of knowing God personally, experiencing the work and power of the Holy Spirit, and learning how to effectively help others experience the life of God. We are one church among the community of churches in Brevard County who desire to honor and glorify God.
Our Mission as a church ... Encounter God, Love People, Share Life
Encounter God … our Identity pursuing His presence
The activity of God’s Kingdom flows out of honoring His presence.
This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (John 17:3).
Love People … our Culture calling out the best in others
Honor celebrates who people are without stumbling over who they are not. Bill Johnson
Put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity (Colossians 3:14).
Share Life … our Purpose displaying His goodness
God displays the Kingdom of Heaven on earth through us.
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).

November 22, 1963 - Groundbreaking for the original building at 4028 South Babcock Street. April 19, 1964 - Mission Dedication Service was held. Eugene Allen became the first full-time pastor. October 4, 1967 - The mission was given full church status becoming Southwest Baptist Church. April 26, 1970 - As senior pastor at the time, Rev. Y.G. Lanier brought a charismatic, non-denominational flavor to the church. At this time ties to First Baptist Church of Melbourne were severed.
Note: Church on the Rock Melbourne is grateful for the rich heritage of our roots from First Baptist Church of Melbourne. We consider FBCM our sister church and have made efforts to heal any wounds that may have occurred over this split. We have since received a blessing from Dr. Larry Bazer of FBCM and continue to have good relations between us. August 1976 - Pastor Randy Ostrander was called to be pastor. Pastor Gary Montecalvo served as Associate Pastor. April 18, 1979 - The church changed its name to The Church on the Way. March 26, 1981 - The church name again changed to New Covenant Fellowship. February 19, 1984 - Groundbreaking for a larger sanctuary. March 14, 1985 was the first Sunday in the new building to worship and praise the Lord. March 1985 - Pastor Jim Maher joined the staff as Associate Pastor. August 1985 - New Covenant Christian School Homeschool Division was founded by Sandra Hancock. June 1986 - Tony Hauck joined the staff as Youth Pastor. February 1989 - Pastor Ostrander was seriously injured in an accident. Pastor Jim Maher served as interim pastor for several months. September 1989 - Pastor Jim Maher was ordained as Senior Pastor. March 1, 1992 - Gary Stebbins was ordained as Associate Pastor. January 1, 1995 - Renewal Meetings began at the Tabernacle Church. NCF was greatly impacted by this move of God and participated in these meetings. April 4, 2000 - Pastor Jim Maher resigned to join with the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. Pastor Gary Stebbins was ordained as Senior Pastor. May 2004 - NCF was officially debt-free. February 6, 2006 - The church name was changed to Church on the Rock Melbourne. February 5, 2010 - MyHOP monthly prayer meetings began alternating between COTRM and Freedom Christian Center. August 30, 2015 - Pastor Gary Stebbins retired as Senior Pastor taking the role of Associate Pastor. Pastor Tony Hauck was ordained as Senior Pastor.

Accept, O Lord
Accept, O Lord, my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my will. All that I am and have thou hast given to me; and I give all back to thee to be disposed of according to they good pleasure. Give me only the comfort of thy presence and the joy of thy love; with thee I shall be more than rich and shall desire nothing more.
