Who we are
Cottingham Methodist Church is a family church, consisting of 125 members. Our church is a busy place, with activities for all ages, both led by community groups, and our own internal teams.
We enjoy a wide variety of worship styles, provided by our own minister, and visiting lay preachers, and supplemented by our choir and music group. We are shortly to pilot a 'downstairs church' which will focus on family worship and incorporate breakfast, video, creative prayer and godly play, and will include a creche.
We play an active part in Cottingham Churches Together, a strong ecumenical link between the six churches. Together, we jointly fund a lay worker, working with students and their families at the high school, as well as working together on several community projects throughout the year.
We aim to offer everyone, young or old, and opportunity to be a part of our church community, and develop their own Christian faith. We are Methodists, but a broad church, that seeks influence from Celtic and other spiritual roots.
We hope you might give us a try, either through joining us at church services, or through one of our many regular events that will allow you to get to know us, and the work we do.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
