Who we are
The Dayspring Community of Faith & Care, gathering for worship each Sunday at 10 am (MT), affirms the importance of faith in action.
The Westminster Shorter Catechism asks, “What is the chief end of man?” or, more simply put, “WHY are WE HERE?” to which the answer comes, “…to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.” In short, we are here to be loved by God and to relish in God’s affections so much so, that we cannot help the overflow of that love spilling out from us and onto others as well.
We believe in God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in the inspiration of the scriptures, in growing together through faithful worship. We believe in the sharing of the sacraments together, living our lives in Christ through discipleship, love and justice. And we believe in reaching out to share God’s love as we put all of our hope in Him.
As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, in the reformed and reforming tradition , we also adhere to several official statements of faithincluding the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. Most recently our theology (our understanding of God) has been voiced through the words of Living Faith.
We are a Leading with Care Community.
We welcome you to visit us (in the church building or online) and, perhaps, to come back.
Dayspring began in 1966 as the Southwest extension of the Rupert Street Presbyterian Church. In June 1969, Dayspring became a separate congregation and shortly thereafter the Rupert street congregation merged with Dayspring.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the home base of our worship, faith formation, and service was our 4-stage building in SW Edmonton. With the advent of COVID-19, ZOOM has become an additional home base. We worship and serve ONSITE and ONLINE.

The Rev Bradley R. Childs began serving as the Minister of Dayspring Church on June 1, 2022. However, he is not new to Dayspring. He began his ministry among us in the early 2000s as our Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult ministry and then as our Pastoral Associate.
In 2010, Brad left us to study for ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church in Canada at Presbyterian College, Montréal. Following graduation and ordination, he served as the minister of First Presbyterian Church, Regina, and then Fairview Presbyterian Church, Vancouver.
