Leader Bio:
I was born and brought up in East Sussex before moving to the North East of England in 1983 via Germany. As a child I attended Sunday school at the local Anglican Church for a number of years, then later as part of my leadership role in the boy scouts, I led our group in church parades once a quarter.

After my father passed away in 1971, I left further education and started an apprenticeship as a dental technician. In 1979 I moved to Germany to further my career. It was while in Germany that I met Annelie who became my wife in 1983. That same year we moved from Germany to the North-East of England, where I worked as a dental technician. We have two daughters, Claudia and Nicola, who are now married and no-longer live at home.

In 1986 I started my own business in Middlesbrough supplying dental crowns and bridges to local dentists. In 1987 I moved to new premises in Guisborough and over the next few years the business grew to the point where we were employing 14 people. At the beginning of 1994 I had an experience with God which made a profound change in my life. After this I found my business no longer held the same appeal.

In 2001 I took four and a half months off work to attend the Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism in Sacramento, Northern California. After graduating from the college, I found it difficult to go back to my previous vocation and looked to sell my business. In 2002 I led out in an evangelistic campaign in Ghana. This was followed by a similar campaign in Bulgaria in 2003. I sold the business in early 2003, however, I continued to work for the new owner on a free-lance basis, using Friday’s to go do door-to-door in the Middlesbrough area, using the community survey.

In November 2004 I was invited by the North England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to work as a Bible Instructor in the Sheffield district of churches. I spent two years in Sheffield before being moved in 2006, to the Middlesbrough district of churches to work there as a Bible Instructor with Pr. Peter Jeynes. When Pr. Jeynes was moved to Kettering in September 2008, I was asked to work together with the local elders to steer the three churches while a search was made for a new pastor.

In January 2009 I was appointed as licensed minister to the Middlesbrough, Darlington and Durham churches, where I ministered until I left the ministry in March of 2014.

In 2019 I was asked by the North England Conference to come out of retirement and pastor the Middlesbrough District of churches from early June.

It’s my vision to equip the members of the Middlesbrough, Darlington and Durham churches, that they are able to bring the eternal gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of their districts, through personal contacts and evangelistic outreach. It’s also my aim to help each member grow in their own personal relationship with Jesus, through prayer, personal Bible study and devotion, that they may be ready for His soon return.   Edit
