Fenton Park Methodist Church History
Originally on the site of a blacksmiths shop, 6 locals mortgaged their houses to pay for the Church to be built in 1900. Mr Stephens JP who owned a brick works in Duke street donated the bricks. In 1934 he again donated bricks to build the Sunday School, now the Church Hall. In 2003 using money left to us by his daughter the pews were removed and the interior of the Church renovated. In 2016 with a grant and money raised the Church Hall and interior rooms were refurbished, double glazed and a kitchen, wheelchair access toilet and a boiler room installed.
The Hall is now used by many local groups to the benefit of the community.
