From Sunday morning worship to mid-week TGiW programs, our church's location in downtown LaGrange offers a unique and important opportunity to be central to the life of our community. Our building hosts a variety of community-based organizations and classes, a thriving preschool and parents day out program, and a number of regular offerings for our own church members.

At FUMC LaGrange, we are exploring our faith, and extending Christ's reach. We value gathering to experience worship through Scripture, music & prayer. We strive to be Christ's hands and feet to those in need in our surrounding community and the greater world. And, we seek to provide opportunity to build relationship and learn together. Leader Bio:

Pastor Lisa Telomen joined the staff of First United Methodist Church of La Grange as Senior Pastor on July 1, 2014. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and French at North Central College in Naperville in 1983, and completed her Master of Divinity at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1987. She also did a year of study in Strasbourg, France, toward each of these degrees. Pastor Lisa was ordained a Deacon in 1987, and an Elder in the Northern Illinois Conference in 1994. She has served parishes across the Northern Illinois Conference, including rural, small town, county seat, Chicago, and Chicago suburban congregations. At each of these parishes, in addition to pastoring and preaching, Pastor Lisa enjoyed ministry with children and youth and coordinated many mission trips for youth and adults, confirmation programs, etc, as well as developing evangelism and stewardship programs to help grow membership and ministry at each church. Pastor Lisa is married to Rodney Telomen, RN, who works at LaGrange Hospital. They have two sons, Christopher and Jeffrey.

Parking

We do not have a parking lot, but parking is available on the street. Watch the signs, especially during weekday school hours!

First United Methodist Church of La Grange Service Times

Sundays at 8:00am and 10:15am

Sunday worship services are at 8:00am (8:30 during the summer months) in the Chapel, and 10:15am in the Sanctuary. The Nursery for infants and toddlers is available during the 10:15 worship service year round. Sunday School for children is offered year-round as well. Sunday School is offered for youth (5th-12th grade) during part of the 10:15 worship service during the school year. There are Sunday School offerings for adults from 9:00-10:00am during the school year as well. All are invited for fellowship, coffee and nut-free cookies in the Gathering Space adjacent to the Sanctuary following 10:15 worship.

Our Sunday worship is fairly traditional, and you'll generally find attire a slight step up from casual, but we welcome you to come as you are.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, with bread and juice. Gluten-free bread is offered. All are welcome to partake of this sacrament; you do not need to 'be United Methodist.'

An all-gender and wheelchair accessible restroom is located on the first floor of the building.

Wheelchair pew spaces are available in the Sanctuary. Large print hymnals and worship bulletins are available from ushers. A T-coil hearing assistance loop is provided in the Sanctuary.
