Who we are
We are a group of Christians of all ages and from all walks of live who gather in small groups throughout the Marlborough Sounds. St Peter’s Havelock is our main congregation with 30 – 40 adults meeting each Sunday morning along with half a dozen children who enjoy Sunday school in the adjoining hall.
St Peter’s Havelock is an historic heritage building, constructed by H. G. Daikep in 1905 for £560 and designed by architect Frederick de Jersey Clere, in Revival Gothic style with an impressive wooden interior and a schist clad brick exterior. “The Church is open at any time for you to visit. Spend a while admiring the fine architecture and, more importantly, come and experience the presence of the One for whom it was designed and built. “
However, we do not consider ourselves “Sunday Christians” but a group of individuals who understand the importance of being “salt and light” in our families, our community, our place of work or study and the world.
Our Strategic Plan includes, developing a culture of prayer individually and corporately, seeking more Holy Spirit in our lives and midst, increasing our social concern for the needy in our community, prioritising the sharing of the Good News, and developing mature Christian leaders.
Our Mission Statement is: “To be a group of people whose lives, individually and corporately in Christ, stand out like light in the darkness, like water in the dessert and like bread to the hungry, through our love of God and one another.”
