Haven Green Baptist Church History
Haven Green Baptist church was built in 1881 and has been a functioning church ever since. The building is a Victorian pile, but more importantly the church is about people, worshipping here over the years.
Building Work - 2009
After over 125 years of service, the building was showing its age, and it became necessary to carry out extensive repairs to the fabric throughout the buildings and to minimise energy wastage and update the electrical wiring.
Borras Construction were appointed as our main contractor to undertake a 23 week programme to carry out essential works.
Once the scaffolding was up, close examination showed that more work was required to the masonry and windows than planned for.
God had graciously provided Haven Green with the means to address the bulk of the work, and the church raised a further £23,000 in a few weeks to enable all the high level stained glass windows to be repaired. As the scaffolding came down, the reconstructed spire, reslated roof and repaired windows helped to bring the building back to its former glory. God's glory demonstrated by the congregation that meets inside remains unchanged.

Come Lord Jesus!
Lord Jesus, master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas. We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us. We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom. We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence. We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light. To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!"
