Who we are
Welcome to Hope Lutheran Church in Port Coquitlam. We live in the real world, where, with God’s help, we endeavor to live out our mission statement: “Active in Love, Growing in Christ.”
However, we also have a presence in the virtual world, with the same mission. We welcome you to the virtual presence of our Hope Lutheran website. Please take a few minutes to explore the site as we take you on an electronic tour of Hope Lutheran Church. (You are also invited to visit the School side of our website.)
If there is some way that we can help you to “Grow in Christ” or be “Active in Love” please do not hesitate to contact us in any of the ways listed.
Of course, since you also live in the real world, we would like to meet you face to face. If you have a spiritual question that you would like addressed, my inbox is always open as is my office door, and you are welcome to drop in – virtually or physically. Because we know of God’s forgiving love for us in His Son, Jesus, we are constantly saying “thanks” to Him, with our lives and with our Sunday worship.
Come visit us some Sunday … in the real world, and get to know in a personal, relevant and eternal way the true God who loves you, too!

Abide in my heart
Come, Lord Jesus, and abide in my heart. How grateful I am to realize that the answer to my prayer does not depend on me at all. As I quietly abide in You and let Your life flow into me, what freedom it is to know that the Father does not see my threadbare patience or insufficient trust, rather only Your patience, Lord, and Your confidence that the Father has everything in hand. In Your faith I thank You right now for a more glorious answer to my prayer than I can imagine. Amen.
