Who we are
Doctrinal Statement
We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty-six books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and were entirely free from error; that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and the true basis of Christian union.
We believe in one God, creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the absolute and essential deity of Jesus Christ, in His eternal existence with the Father in pre-incarnate glory, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return.
We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who convinces of sin, of righteousness and of judgement; who regenerates, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe that Satan exists as an evil personality, the originator of sin, the archenemy of God and Man.
We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God; that he sinned, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death
We believe that salvation is by the sovereign, electing grace of God; that by the appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a vicarious, expiatory and propitiatory death; that justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that those whom God has effectually called shall be divinely preserved and finally perfected in the image of the Lord”
We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgment and conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked.
We believe that a church is a company of immersed believers, called out from the world, separated unto the Lord Jesus, voluntarily associated for the ministry of the Word, the mutual edification of its members, the propagation of the faith and the observance of the ordinances. We believe it is a sovereign, independent body, exercising its own divinely awarded gifts, precepts and privileges under the Lordship of Christ, the Great Head of the church. We believe that its officers are pastors and elders.
We believe that there are only two ordinances for the church regularly observed in this New Testament in the following order: 1. Baptism which is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby he obeys Christ’s command and sets forth his identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection; 2. The Lord’s Supper which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of the two elements, bread and wine, which symbolize the Lord’s body and blood, proclaiming His death until He comes.
We believe in the entire separation of Church and state.
We believe in religious liberty; that every man has the right to practice and propagate his beliefs.
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s day and that, in a special sense, it is the divinely appointed day for worship and spiritual exercise.
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in the things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the kings of the Earth.”

Houston Baptist Church Service Times
Worship Services every Sunday at 10:00 am.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we are restricted to a maximum of 50 people attending our service. If you wish to attend you can register by calling any of the elders or pastors.
Our plan for services is as follows:
Everyone hoping to attend services must register in advance by 5:00 PM on the Saturday immediately before the service. You can register by sending an email to [email protected] or by contacting one of our pastors or elders. If you send an email you will receive an email by Saturday evening that will confirm that you are registered or that there is no room for you that week.
You will need to register for each service you are hoping to attend.
If you are feeling unwell, or exhibiting any symptoms, please do not attend. If you are unable to attend please cancel your booking
As per BC Health Authority guidelines you must maintain social distancing (6ft) and refrain from hugging, shaking hands, or other forms of physical contact.
Upon arriving at the church, please remain outside to await being led to your seat by an usher.
Seating will be arranged by family units (singles will be considered a family unit), in order to maintain effective social distancing.
Everyone must use hand sanitizer upon entering the building.
We ask that once seated you remain in your seat until the service is over except for washroom usage. (The upstairs washroom will be available).
At this point we do not have a feasible plan for partaking in communion, although we are working on a plan to make communion possible.
Offering baskets will be placed at the exits, but we encourage online giving as much as possible.
With low numbers of attendees, and adequate spacing, we anticipate singing being part of our worship service.
Children’s Church and Nursery will not be available until further notice. Colouring sheets will not be provided (as per B.C. Health and Safety guidelines).
There will be no coffee service until further notice.
At the conclusion of the service, please exit in an orderly manner with appropriate distancing between family groups
We ask that you refrain from stopping and visiting in the building, but encourage you to visit safely in the parking lot.
It's been more than 3 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

My hidden sins
Here they are, Lord Jesus, my hidden sins. I bring them out of the secret chamber of my heart. I take them out of the darkness and expose them to Your light. Lord, You have promised You will execute Your word upon the earth, thoroughly and quickly. Oh God, thoroughly cleanse my heart; purify me quickly!
