Who we are
Our Mission
We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Mead United Methodist Church History
In 1906 the United Brethren Church decided to build a church in Mead, Colorado. The cornerstone for the church was laid in 1907 and some of the first ministers were Rev. Gorge Carriger in 1915, Rev. C.W. Olewein in 1915, and Rev. J.H. Campbell in 1920.
Unfortunately, due to a fire in the parsonage building in 1919, the church records were lost prior to 1919. However, a new parsonage was soon built and added onto in the 1960’s. This parsonage still stands next door to the Mead UMC on the West Side.
On April 23, 1968 in Dallas, Texas, the Evangelical United Brethren Church join with the Methodist Church to become the United Methodist Church. The Mead United Methodist Church continues on today helping to bring peoples into a lifesaving relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Ladies Aid had a major role in the life of the Mead church as well as the Mead community. They have helped support the church through the years by giving money for church repairs and in holding bazaars to sell their crafts and baked goods, as well as embroidering many sets of tea towels.
In 1969 the first of the stained glass windows were put in. The last window was installed in 2006 and the beauty they add to the Mead United Methodist Sanctuary is beyond description.
There are 3 major Mead events that were started by the Mead United Methodist Church. 1. The church started an annual Hog Roast where a Hog was roasted in a pit in the Mead town park. This later turned into Mead Community Days. 2. Senior Meals was first held in the basement of the church and was later moved to the Mead Town Hall. 3. An adult Sunday School Projected turned into the Mead Community Food Bank and is even today an ongoing community project.
The Mead United Methodist Church has served the Mead community for many years and it has plans to continue to be a place of help and ministry for many years to come.
Like the years gone by, you can still find people worshiping in the sanctuary of the Mead United Methodist Church, helping those in need, singing the praises of God and trying to fully be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Mead community.
The mission of the Mead United Methodist Church is to help others discover the love of Christ in their hearts. We are a warm and welcoming congregation of all ages and back grounds so feel free to come on in and take a look around.
