Who we are
At New Community we are committed to partnering with God to transform this world for good, by being mercy givers and justice bringers both in our local and global communities. We believe that God wants us to be an advance copy of what is to come when Jesus returns.
Building each other up, sharing life, serving others, worshipping God in voice and action, growing in knowledge of Him, engaging our world, telling others, and praying for real, positive change are all expressions of our reason for being a church community. Below are some of the ways we do this:
Discovery - Sunday@10. Our 10am Sunday gathering is a safe place for you to explore spirituality. Involving the use of a variety of media, personal stories and teaching from the Bible, we aim to convey the relevance of Jesus to our everyday lives.
Way To Go children's program. Our young people's gathering on a Sunday morning caters for the tiny tots through to teens. We agree with the saying, 'It takes a whole community to raise a child.' We are committed to building healthy places for children to grow and discover God's purpose for their lives.
Enrich - Thursday@8. Every alternate week our 8pm Thursday night gathering provides a place where other aspects of life with God can be experienced. Here we typically worship in song, share communion and prayer, have conversation about the life of our church community and learn from the Bible.
Sunday Engage. Every 8 weeks on a Sunday morning we participate in a variety of activities aimed at demonstrating mercy and justice within our community. In this way we can model values of Jesus together.
Soup Kitchen. Three times a month we assist in the running of a Soup Kitchen in Croydon.
Food Distribution. Offering a homecooked meal during a time of crisis or change can be such a welcome gift. Meals are regularly made and stored for distribution among our church and wider community.
Bargain Browser. We operate an opportunity shop in East Ringwood that provides quality used goods at affortable prices and supports projects that benefit the local community.
Discovering God and experiecing life with him was always intended to be explored with others in community. We believe that God made us for relationship - relationship with himself and one another. We welcome you to journey with us in this cause.
