New Life Church History
John P. Tanner (J.P.), former assistant pastor at Calvary AG in Valley Head, under Pastor Dave Pridgen, left Calvary AG in 2011 to start a church plant in Mill Creek in November under the name of Life Christian Center. The church then rented a former volunteer fire department building in Mill Creek. After Pastor J.P. resigned from the church in early 2015, the church then hired Julie Dean later in 2015. In February of 2016, New Life Christian Center changed its name to New Life Church and purchased a former Baptist church building in Beverly. After Pastor Julie resigned in 2017, John Cowger became an intern pastor for three months. Dave Powell, also the present pastor of Calvary AG in Valley Head, then became pastor of New Life Church on August 27, 2017.
