Who we are
Portobello and Joppa Parish Church is a part of the Church of Scotland in the Presbytery of Edinburgh. You can find us at Brunstane Road North in Joppa, Portobello, about fifteen minutes drive from Edinburgh city centre.
Join us for Sunday worship. We celebrate Communion every Sunday at 9:30am followed by our family worship service at 11:00am.
Bursting colours in our stained glass windows are a delight and joy to behold. In the darkness of winter, when the lights inside shine, they are an Advent candle for the community.
Our building is a treasure. Beautiful and immediately recognisable. Without people, however, it is only a beautiful shell washed up on the beach. With people, it is bursting with life, colour, vibrancy, hope and love. With you, our collective life is enriched and we pray that your life will be enriched.

We offer a variety of services, all of which have one aim: a rich, resonant response to the gift of faith, hope and love so beautifully and transparently manifested in the life of Christ.

Portobello Old Parish Church Service Times
There is a Communion Service at 9.30am every Sunday and then a Worship Service at 11am.
Coffee is served in the Church Hall after both services with home baking and Fair Trade goods for sale on the 1st Sunday of each month after the 11am service.
A creche is provided for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old to allow parents and carers to attend church.
Holy Communion is celebrated quarterly – on the last Sunday of October, January, April and June, with services at 9.30am and 11am. There are also occasional evening communion services at 7.30pm.
