Who we are
Welcome to St. Anne’s Parish!
St. Anne’s Mission Statement
We the members of St. Anne’s Parish, Barrhead believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and share in the continued ministry of the Catholic Church, in St. Paul Diocese, by partaking in threefold dimension of kingly, prophetic and priestly ministries of Christ through our baptism.
We will be a witnessing community through our life and faith to Christ who transformed our lives, following the example of St. Anne in utmost humility. Gathering around the Eucharistic table, we will imbibe the spirit of sharing and service to our parish community and to our fellow human beings.
Being led by the Holy Spirit, we will deepen our faith through prayer and nourish it through sacraments. As one family of faith we will volunteer our time and energy for the greater glory of God, in our parish and in general in our community

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 18s:
At present St. Anne’s Youth Group is for students of grade 4 and up.
They meet twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, at 5:15pm in the church hall. The meetings start with supper and refreshments, followed by a reading out of the book “Jesus Calling” (daily meditations) with a discussion. This year the focus was on the Creed. All learned the Creed by memorizing and games.
After the discussion, there is games and music.
The Youth Group also has a Youth Mass once a month (usually the last Saturday), where they will participate in the Mass by greeting, reading the 1st and 2nd reading, bringing the gifts and the collection.
The Youth Group organizes outings to the Barrhead Elementary gym where they play Floor hockey and Dodge ball, they go Skating, Paintballing, Trampoline World and attended Mass at the Edmonton Cathedral.
Come check us out on our Wednesdays! There is always lots of food for both the body and soul, and fun and games.

Empower me
Empower me to be a bold participant, rather than a timid saint in waiting; to exercise authority of honesty, rather than to defer to power or deceive to get it; to influence someone for justice, rather than impress anyone for gain; and by grace, to find treasures of joy, of friendship, of peace hidden in the fields you give me daily to plow.
