Who we are
Shildon Methodist Church is one of a number of chapels in the Bishop Auckland and Shildon Methodist Circuit. The Superintendent Minister, Rev David Payne, has oversight for our church. We also have a Lay Pastoral Assistant, Melanie Campbell, who works one day a week.

Leader Bio:
Rev David Payne took up the appointment as Methodist Circuit Superintendent Minister, including Minister for Shildon Methodist Church, on 1st September 2020.
He arrived in the Circuit following almost 14 years service as a hospital chaplain in the NHS. The last 5 years of this time were spent as Chaplaincy Team Leader with Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to that he was a Methodist Circuit Minister from September 1995 and this followed an initial career in banking after leaving school.
He lives in Shildon with his wife Diane.

The Church is located in Main Street at the junction with Church Street and Central Parade in the centre of the town. Use DL4 1DB if you need to locate us with your sat-nav. We have a small car park behind the church. The entrance to the Church car park is narrow and is accessed from the roundabout at the junction of Main Street, Church Street and Central Parade.
Parking
There is a large car park in Civic Hall Square which can be used, although this can be quite full if there are events on at Shildon Civic Hall. There is also lots of on-street parking in the streets surrounding us.
Shildon Methodist Church Service Times
The church meets for Sunday Worship at 10.30am or 2.30pm and everyone is welcome.
You can also join with us at our open, informal coffee morning on Thursday between 9.45am and 11.00am in the Community Hall.
