Who we are
Our Vision: “SLBC will be a place where outsiders become insiders, forgetters become rememberers, and beloved children become belief-filled adults”
Our Purpose: “Our purpose, dependent on God’s Spirit, is to worship God, to make disciples, to love and serve, to reach out to the lost, and equip each other for ministry”
Our Values:
A Personal relationship with God: we believe that God seeks a relationship with everyone through Jesus Christ. Bible-centred in all things: we want to be people who dig deeper into God’s Word in our preaching, teaching, and ministries and so be renewed and empowered by it. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit: we believe in the power of God’s Spirit to change lives and we want to be open to him and give him the space to work in us. Everyone has a part to play: we want to recognise the gifting of every individual and aspire to be a church where everyone is given the opportunity to grow in that gifting as they serve God in the church. A heart for the world/lost: we seek to be a church that wants to see lost people come into a relationship with God, and we want God to use us in that process. Everything covered in prayer: we want to be prayerful in all things seeking God’s direction and blessing as we serve the local community and take steps of faith. A church that cares for one another: we are a family that seeks to love one another as Christ loves us.

Southborough Lane Baptist Church Service Times
Sunday AM: 10.30am
The morning service is every Sunday at 10.30am and will normally end before 12 noon in time for lunch! We have 15 minutes at the beginning of the service with the children, followed by a time of worshipping God through music, and then a sermon based on Biblical teaching taught in a relevant way to our lives today. The service is followed by tea and coffee in the back hall, and prayer ministry is available who wants to be prayed for.
Once a month, usually the first Sunday in the month, is a shorter service that is aimed at people of all ages and uses videos, dramas, all-age songs, and creative illustrations. For these services we are joined by the children and the Boy’s and Girl’s Brigades.
We also celebrate Communion on the third Sunday of each month.
Sunday PM: 6.30pm
Our 6.30pm Sunday evening services have a more relaxed feel to them and feature more contemporary worship. Normally we have more young people and young adults at these services, but they are for any age! We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
It's been more than 7 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Grant me, O Lord...
Grant me, O Lord, to know what I ought to know,to love what I ought to love, to praise what delights Thee most, to value what is precious in Thy sight, to hate what is offensive to Thee. Do not suffer me to judge according to the sight of my eyes, nor to pass sentence according to the hearing of the ears of ignorant men; but to discern with a true judgment between things visible and spiritual, and above all, always to inquire what is the good pleasure of Thy will.
