Who we are
We are an evangelical church at the heart of St Albans. Our aim is to grow in our knowledge of God, to love him, and to make him known.
At Spicer Street we have many people who are not Christians but who are just looking into the Christian faith for themselves. Joining with us at one of our Sunday services at church or online would be an ideal way to do that.

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
Sunday School & Crèche
In school term time, including Sundays in half term, there are Sunday School groups for children aged from 2½ to 11 at both morning services. All these groups are led by trained volunteers and will include age-appropriate Bible teaching and activities.
The children start in the main service for the first 15 minutes or so, before going to join their groups.
There is also a crèche available at both morning services, starting from the beginning of the service.
During the school holidays, there are groups for children up to aged 7 at the 9:30 service.
All Age Services
Once or twice a term, instead of running a Sunday School, we have an all age service. This is a great opportunity for the whole church family to worship and learn together.
Wednesday Club
Our midweek group for children in school years 3-6 (or years 2-5 in the summer term) meets in the church hall every Wednesday in school term time, from 5-6:30pm.
You can expect plenty of games, crafts, interactive Bible teaching and activities, and we even finish with a simple, child-friendly meal to enjoy together. Newcomers are always welcome!
Please contact us for more details, including how to register your child.
Little Explorers group for parents and toddlers
Our toddler group meets on Thursday mornings.
We play in the hall first, then go into the church for a Bible story and singing. We then go back into the hall for craft, refreshments and more playing.
We also run a separate group for those in the early days of parenting with a chance to chat and seek advice from others.

Crossway
Crossway meets on a Friday (6:45-8:00pm) at a local school during term time. The plan is to have a great time getting to know each other better, and getting to know Jesus better from the Bible, so there’s always a mix of Bible teaching and activities.
Some of us also get together on a Sunday evening (5:45-7:00pm) in the church hall to think more deeply about what it means to follow Jesus as 11-14 year olds.
Please contact us for meeting details.
YP
YP meets on a Friday (8:00-9:30pm) at a local school during term time. The evening starts with a chance for everyone to hang out, before we take a look at the Bible together. About once a month we do something a bit different together e.g. a Q&A session, a topic or special event.
Years 12 and 13 have their small group on a Tuesday evening in a local home but still join us for the all together events.
Some of the YP (Years 10-13) also meet together on a Sunday night, (7:00-8:30pm) in the church hall. This session provides an opportunity for them to encourage each other and be spurred on in the faith.

廣東話事工 Cantonese Ministry
Cantonese service, spiritual community and gospel ministry at Spicer Street Church
As many Hong Kong people are expected to move to Hertfordshire, we have started this Cantonese fellowship by prayer and faith, hoping to connect Christian families and support Hong Kong people who are new to the area.
Throughout these days, we have experienced the rich provision of our Heavenly Father, and witnessed the steady growth of the group.
Our Cantonese services take place at 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of every month. Please join us!

Love me, Lord, just for today
Lord, for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray; Keep me, my God, from stain of sin just for today. Let me both diligently work, And duly pray. Let me be kind in word and deed, Just for today. Let me be slow to do my will, Prompt to obey; Help me to sacrifice myself Just for today. And if today my tide of life should ebb away, Give me thy sacraments divine, Sweet Lord today. So for tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, But keep me, guide me, love me, Lord, Just for today.
