Who we are
Liberation Theology on Chicago's Near West Side
St. Andrew's is a little church not far from Chicago's United Center. The church building is modest in appearance from the outside, and many drive past on Washington or Warren Boulevard without realizing it is there. But inside, it is a beautiful chapel inviting visitors to prayer and quiet reflection, with a high ceiling, tall windows, and colorful artistic touches. Bishop Jeffrey Lee has described its look as "monastic". Our front doors are painted bright red, the centuries-old sign for a place of sanctuary.
St. Andrew's is home to a growing community of Chicagoans who come from a variety of backgrounds and who are inspired by the teachings and example of Jesus.
The people of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church invite you to join them on Sundays at 10:40 a.m. for worship, for friendship, for building our community, and for making a better world.
We are unapologetically pro-people, pro-public education and pro-union.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at 48 N. Hoyne Avenue on Chicago's Near West Side. We are one long block west, and 1-1/2 blocks north of the United Center. Click on the map below for directions.
By Train:
Take the Blue Line to the Illinois Medical Center station, exit at the Damen side of the station. Walk north five blocks to Warren, then walk one block west to Hoyne. Take the Green Line to the Ashland Ave. station, walk west on Lake Street to Paulina St., then make a left at Hoyne Ave.
By Bus:
Take the CTA Madison Street (20) bus. Exit at Madison and Hoyne (Mabel Manning branch of the Chicago Public Library). Walk one block north on Hoyne.
By Car:
From I-290, Exit at Damen. Drive north on Damen four blocks to Madison. Turn west onto Madison and drive one block to Hoyne. Turn right onto Hoyne and drive 1-1/2 blocks to church.
By Train:
