Mass at St Charles
Some easing of the Covid restrictions have recently been announced by the Diocese in relation to the celebration of Mass. These have been discussed with Father Harry and are listed below and will take effect from Sunday 4th July.
We continue to take a cautious approach to easing restrictions in order to keep everyone safe.
- No requirement for readers to sanitise their hands before and after reading but they will still have the option to do so if they wish.
- Prayer of the Faithful will be re-introduced.
- Offertory Procession will be re-introduced.
- The Eucharistic Minister is now permitted to say aloud "The Body of Christ" for each communicant, and the communicant may reply “Amen.”
- Holy Communion will continue to be distributed on the hand only.
There has been no relaxation as yet in the Track & Trace and Social Distancing requirements. Therefore, until further notice we will still need to:-
- Continue to use the Telephone Booking system for Sunday Mass
- Continue to sanitise hands both on entering and leaving the church.
- Continue to follow the advice of stewards on entering and leaving the church.
- Continue to wear a face covering (mask) at all times when in church.
- Continue social distancing as currently practised. In church this means at least 1metre between people from different households and wearing a mask.
We all hope that the day when restrictions are removed completely is not far off but we trust you understand why we must continue to be cautious as restrictions are eased.
Thank you.
