Who we are
Carlingford and Omeath Parish is a parish in the Archdiocese of Armagh. It is located in the Cooley Peninsula area, Co Louth, Rep. of Ireland.
As the name suggests, the parish is composed of two communities in the towns of Carlingford and Omeath, who work together as one family to promote the kingdom of God, in the joy of the Gospel. As a community of disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, we work to build a place where people feel welcome and are encouraged to practice their faith as Catholics.
Our two churches are:
St Michael’s Church, Chapel Hill Carlingford (built in 1870-1875) St Laurence’s Church, Chapel Hill Omeath (built in 1987, replacing the old church built in 1836-1866)
You are very welcome to come and join us at our Masses and other liturgical celebrations.

Eternal God, this holy night is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem this night fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity. Amen.
