Restoration of the bells
We are delighted that Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust, together with additional support from Hampshire County Council have provided £1,500 towards the restoration of St Peter's Church bells. The treble bell was cast in about 1250 and is one of the oldest church bells in the country. The tenor bell is late medieval and both are listed in the Church Building Council “Schedule of Bells for Preservation' and therefore important for us to restore. A big thank you goes to the Historic Churches Trust and Hampshire CC for their support in this.
